These rockstars put in the work!
"Wanted to share my before and after photos with you. These pictures were taken a year apart (April 2018 to April 2019). I knew I needed to make a big change towards my health. As a single mom working two jobs, I had not made myself a priority. I wasn’t eating right, I was tired all the time and suffered for years with chronic migraines. I had gained 30-lbs and couldn’t get my eating in check and couldn’t figure out time-wise how I’d get to the gym. I joined a gym and I made a commitment to be there every morning at 5:30 am so I could be home after work for my teenage daughter. I learned so much about my diet and eating and I’ve never had so much energy and my migraines are gone after 20+ years. I followed lots of girls on Instagram for inspiration and was intrigued by the WBFF. I decided about half way through my journey I would compete at 46. The best part about deciding to compete is the journey and the hard work and the amazing group of women I have met at Body Ambition. So looking forward to these next couple of months!"
"The left is from 2009, in college, the most I have weighed in my life. After being overweight for most of my life, the middle photo is from 2012 after I lost over 50-pounds just through diet and exercise. However, I was eating barely anything, and I couldn’t tell you what a source of protein was and I was doing an hour of cardio a day. I struggled with different eating disorders and ended up gaining a lot of the weight back, and my weight yo-yo’d for the next year or so.
I then discovered weight lifting but my diet was totally off because I knew nothing about nutrition. I started to educate myself and ended up joining BA in April 2014 in hopes of one day competing. The right image is me in April 2015, the day of my first competition!"
"I’ve always considered myself living what I thought was a healthy lifestyle–eating well and working out.
But, I have always been that “skinny fat guy,” and was never able to reach my desired level of fitness.
After being diagnosed with low-risk Myelodysplastic Syndrome, I was determined to get in the best possible condition, and maybe beat this thing.
I needed someone to help me get there and teach me proper nutrition and exercise. That is why I teamed up with the Body Ambition coaches.
It wasn’t long before I decided to enter a bodybuilding competition to give myself a goal and keep me on track.
It was amazing seeing the changes to my body happening on a daily basis. After seeing my abs for the first time in my life, I realized that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
Of course, it was all made possible with the guidance of the Body Ambition coaches.
Looking forward to bigger and better things!"
"I decided this past fall to start transforming my body toward a goal of competing in a fitness competition.
I had become unsatisfied with my physique over the last several years due to change in my diet and exercise habits.
I have always been active, but life got complicated and I stopped making exercise a priority. I cycled less, hiked less and lifted less, but kept on eating like the athlete I once was, which slowly allowed the inches to creep onto my entire body.
It is amazing how slow it happens, how easy it is to ignore the gradual changes until suddenly you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror or photo and say, “who is that person!?!”
I wanted to transform to get back to the fit, healthy person of my past, and feel comfortable in my own skin again! So I joined Body Amabition in the fall and signed on to do the transformation division this past April with the WBFF.
The transformation challenge for Fitness Atlantic has not only allowed me to start changing my physique and lifestyle for the better but will be a great first time experience with the WBFF and fitness competitions.
I still have a lot of work to do to get this body competition ready in the fall, but it can only get better from here! I look forward to working with Body Ambition this summer and beyond to continue to transform my physique as well as live a healthy lifestyle!"
"Here are pics at week 1 and then at 11 weeks. When I think my progress has been slow, I look at these photos. I am on the Lifestyle program and that is actually what it is . . . a lifestyle change. The first weeks were overwhelming but then I started to think about balance. I was worried I would lose momentum if I had a glass of wine or a beer. I do have goals and they include having a happy life along with working out and eating right.
I am very happy with how far I have come. I am not taking the stage, but that is not why I joined BA. I joined so I could have someone, a coach, take me by the hand and give me tools I needed so that I could hit the gym with a plan. You have been very supportive and did not judge me when I didn't lose it for a few weeks.
Consistency is so important and I am learning this. It helps to stay on track and be accountable. I am still figuring out how to responsibly balance it all but the challenges are so worth the results!
I am so excited to keep this going!"
"The first photo from the left is 7.29.13 the day I signed up with Janelle…for the record I was a “cardio queen” and ran at least 8 miles a day and ran the Philly marathon twice. The middle photo is my first show in April 2014 and the last photo is from 2 weeks ago on basic ‘lifestyle’ eating not in competition prep."
"Words cannot begin to describe how much Janelle and her program have changed my life. Janelle is more than just a fitness coach and pro, but a mentor, friend, and life coach. Everything Janelle does with her clients is with the purest intentions and thoughtful heart, while pushing you to your maximum potential. Emotional, physical, and nutritional well being is Janelle’s upmost priority with each of her clients, because a true transformation starts from the inside out. Janelle’s feisty, fearless, loving spirit is contagious in the gym, and the environment she has created within her Fit Fam is empowering. I have been working with Janelle and attending classes at Body Ambition Fitness for 5-months (at my time of writing this) and have lost over 35-inches, 30-pounds, and over 11% body fat. Aside from the physical transformation, Janelle has taught me to love myself again and treat my body to be the temple it is. The training is an absolute blast while providing REAL results at the same time. Working with Janelle was hands down the best decision I ever made. I am so grateful for all I have gained through this program."
"Story coming soon..."
